What exactly is Direct Primary Care?

Think of it like a gym membership, but instead of elliptical machines you never use, you get a pediatrician who actually knows your child’s name. I cut out the insurance middleman so I can spend my time looking at your kid’s ears instead of a computer screen.

Does this mean I can toss my insurance card?

Not quite! You’ll still want insurance for the “big stuff”—like ER visits or that one time your toddler decides to see if a Lego fits in their nose. Your membership covers almost everything you do with me, but insurance is your safety net for the hospital and specialists.

Memberships can be paid/reimbursed through many HSA FSAs. We can provide superbills for families who wish to seek possible reimbursement through PPO/out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.

So, what do I actually get?

Aside from my world-class “mom jokes”? You get unlimited visits with zero copays, extended appointments in the comfort of your home, and the ability to text me when you’re spiraling because of a mysterious rash.

Wait, I can actually text my doctor and you’ll come to my house?

Yes! You’ll have a direct line for those “is this normal?” moments that always seem to always happen right when regular offices close. I will also come to your house for visits when necessary (you will be surprised how much we can handle via text/phone). This way you get to protect that nap time, avoid a germy waiting room, skip packing up all the kids, and I get to see them in their natural habitat. Win-win!

What if I want to leave?

I’ll be sad, but I won’t make it weird. You can cancel any time with a 30-day notice. I am here to make your life easier, not to trap you in a contract like a cable company.

What happens if we need a test or a vaccine?

I carry the essentials with me! I can perform basic point-of-care testing (like strep or flu) right at your kitchen table. For other lab tests or imaging, I am partnered with Quest and Touchstone Imaging – and can often get you cheaper pricing (even cheaper than your insurance at times). For vaccines, I’ll coordinate with you to ensure your child stays on schedule using the most convenient method for your family.

What is your approach to vaccines?

I align with the AAP recommendations as the foundation for preventative care. At the same time, the heart of my practice is the relationship I build with each family. I believe that every child deserves a dedicated doctor and a medical home where they feel safe and heard. Whether you are following the standard schedule or have a different path in mind for your family, I’m here to provide honest guidance and high quality care without the pressure. My goal is to be your partner in health, meeting you exactly where you are—right at your own front door.
